ADM’s produces Biodiesel through a patented process known as transesterification, in which vegetable oils are heated with alcohol in the presence of a catalyst to yield mono-alkyl esters(biodiesel) and glycerin. ADM’s biodiesel products include Connediesel, Connester and crude and refined glycerin. Their Connediesel brand is a high-quality biodiesel that complies with EU standards. ADM also delivers ethanol to refiners through a network of trucks, rail cars, barges and terminals. Their customers blend these products with unleaded gasoline in various concentrations to increase the fuel’s octane rating and help reduce harmful emissions.
