Ballard Power Systems Inc. (BLDP) is engaged in the development, manufacture, sale and servicing of clean energy hydrogen proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells. Applications for the company’s fuel cell products focus on motive power (material handling and buses) and stationary power (back-up power and residential cogeneration).
Some example products include backup power generation, residential cogeneration, and distributed power generation. The FCgen family of products include Fcgen-1020ACS, which is a backup power application. Compared to conventional batteries and diesel generators it is more reliable, has lower maintenance costs, a longer operating life, a reduced size and weight and installation footprint. Another product from the Fcgen family is Fcgen-1030- a fuel cell product with the power to change energy independence in the residential housing market. Ballard’s one-megawatt modular fuel cell product is designed to provide a supply of ocntinous (>80% uptime) zero-emission power.
