PRESS RELEASE: Eco Investor Guide Announces Media Partnership with “Charged 2020: The Global Energy Storage Forum”

Mark Henshaw - April 22, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Diego, CA – On June 30-July 1, 2010, The University of San Diego will host a Global Energy Storage Forum to discuss the strategic challenges and opportunities for creating a sustainable energy future.  This annual event will bring key business leaders, senior technologists, battery entrepreneurs and venture capitalists along the energy storage value-chain. Conference speakers, consisting of global industry leaders, will discuss cutting-edge energy storage and smart grid technologies and the strategies for future innovation. In addition, workshops and panel discussions will be held both days to create an environment for an open exchange of ideas regarding future energy generation, storage and use.

Global Industry Executives to Gather at San Diego Energy Summit

Eco Investor Guide is a Media Partner in this summit that will focus on the strategic challenges in designing high-performance energy storage technologies that are safe, low-cost and reliable. There is a critical need to develop a new generation of high-energy, low-cost batteries. This represents a critical barrier to wide-spread deployment of electric vehicles (EVs). The development if achieved would have a profound impact on energy security, greenhouse gas emissions and economic growth.
Utility companies are now expected to supply a greater percentage of electricity to their customers from renewables such as wind and solar. The efficient and economical generation and storage of this energy is faced with technological gaps but the opportunity has arisen for inventors and entrepreneurs to lead the way with new innovative solutions.

The summit will provide a unique and exciting opportunity for delegates to network with their peers across multiple industries along the value-chain. Jerry Sanders, Mayor of San Diego will officially inaugurate the conference and provide opening remarks. Confirmed speakers include executives from BP Solar, Better Place, Altairnano, BAE Systems, Argonne National Labs, and other prominent global companies.

More information on the conference can be found on the “Charged 2020” website. Register online at www.Charged2020.com or contact Karl Smerecnik by email: karl.smerecnik@destinhaus.com.
