PRESS RELEASE: JPS Global Investments to host seminar at the La Jolla Public Library titled “Earth, Wind, and Fire: How Investors can Profit from Renewable Energy and the Green Economy.”
| Jan Schalkwijk, CFA - May 3, 2010 |
On May 21st at 4:00pm, JPS will be conducting a seminar for the local community on investing in the Green Economy at the La Jolla Public Library, 7555 Draper Avenue, La Jolla, California.
Competitive returns don’t have to come at the expense of the environment. In fact, there are exciting investment opportunities inherent in the challenges of climate change, energy security, and environmental resource management. Investing in clean technology, alternative energy, and environmental leaders can benefit investors seeking higher returns as well as those seeking lower risk.
The seminar presenter will be Jan Schalkwijk, CFA. Jan has 13 years of experience in the investment industry and is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of JPS Global Investments, a local money manager. From 1997 to 2005, Jan worked at Franklin Templeton Investments, where he was vice president of investment platforms. Jan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, his Bachelor of Science degree from Menlo College in Atherton, CA, and his Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of San Diego.
The event is open to the general public, and snacks and refreshments will be provided. The format will be interactive and participants will have the opportunity to raise questions and engage in the conversation regarding the green economy and green investments. People interested in attending should contact JPS.
